National Get-Together in Wagga Wagga N S W October 2007

The Get-Together in Wagga Wagga was a great success.  62 caravans and motorhomes filled the Wagga Beach Caravan Park.

The short tag-a-long to Junee was enjoyed by all that went.  The tour of the Licorice and Chocolate Factory was extremely entertaining and the products were mouth watering.  Rail enthusists were in their element at the Junee roundhouse. 42 tracks surround a 100 foot turntable in the middle of the two sheds. Today the roundhous is home to the Junee Railway Workshop.  The Afternoon was completed with devonshire tea in the historic homestead of Monte Cristo.

The following day saw a shorter tag-a-long to the Charles Sturt University Cheese and Wine section.  After touring the winery and the cheeses making areas, tastings were offered of their award winning wines and cheeses.  Many sales of both these products were made.

Sausages, marinated chicken wings, hamburgers and vegie burgers were in plentyful supply for the rally's B B Q on the Friday night.  The BBQ chefs did an excellent job and there was more than enough for all.   Some of the left-overs were actually available for breakfast the following day with the pancakes that were cooked by the President and other expert help.

The rally's dinner was held on the Saturday night at the Wagga Wagga RSL club. It was the best value $15.00 buffet that you could imagine.  A large selection and choice of the main course, including piles of prawns, and a big variety of sweets made this a meal that most walked from feeling more than satisfied.

Tha Annual General Meeting was held in the South Wagga Bowls Club building.  All office bearers stood down and the election was then conducted to elect the management committee for the next twelve months.  After the meeting most stayed back for the $9.50 buffet lunch at the Club.

There were many excellent prizes donated by Club members for the raffle and this was drawn at happy hour on the Sunday night.  The proceeds of the raffle will be equally shared by the Royal Flying Doctor Service and the local Wagga Wagga Hospital.

Yarrawonga is the venue for the next national Get-Together 11 to 18 March 2008
