10th Birthday at Casino was a great success We Came And Socialized In Northern New South Wales OH - What a great celebration!
From commencement - 17 March to the finish - 27 March, 2009 the objective was to "socialize" and "have fun" and members attending at Casino Village RV Resort did just that and more!
The venue for this ‘Get-together' was perfect with a variety of activities to choose from - line dancing, craft groups, disc bowls, card bingo, trivia evening, grocery bingo, crazy whist, movies and learn how to meditate class, are just a few.
A class on Tai Chi, a members disc bowls competition; golfing and greens bowls were other choices. Boiling water and tea & coffee supplies were always available for the daily morning tea break
The "10th Birthday dinner and celebration" with 150 people all joining in the festivities, singing and dancing, was an evening to remember. The ‘Birthday Cakes' were really too nice to cut, but cut them we did, with all ‘sampling'.
The ‘Club's breakfast', ‘Street breakfasts' and ‘Happy Hours' were all opportunities to gather and chatter. .
Coach tours to surrounding areas and specific points of interest included - Ballina, Lennox Head, the lovely township of Bangalow, Lismore and the alternative township of Nimbin.
The swimming pool at the Resort was a great hit with many participating in water aerobics - YES at 7.00 am. At other times there was much frivolity as members cooled themselves from the hot-steamy weather.
The raffle donations were many and varied making the fundraising - which is given to the RFDS and a local charity (in this instance to the Casino Hospital Auxiliary) - a huge success. I sincerely thank everyone who donated gifts and participated in the purchasing of tickets - a truly great effort!
Guest Speakers - Julie James, Corporate Manager of Casino Village RV Resort and Rod Caldicott, Tourism & Promotions Officer with the Richmond Valley Council shared their wealth of information with members. I am grateful to the Casino Visitors & Information Centre for their willingness to make up ‘Information Kits' which were presented to members on arrival.
A special ‘thanks' to members who initiated and contributed to "Sponsor a Tree" at Casino Village RV Resort on behalf of the ATCM&CC Inc. A copy of the tree ‘plaque' will be in a future issue of ‘The Traveller'
A number of new memberships were received from residents of Casino Village - we extend a warm welcome to these folk and look forward to meeting them again ‘down the track'.
Watch out for a future edition of the "Caravan & Motorhome" magazine as Kylie Dapiran, Journalist, thoroughly enjoyed mingling with members taking photos and learning of their travelling experiences.
