The club was started in 1999 and is growing very fast and welcomes all. The Australian Touring Caravan, Motorhome and Camping Club Inc. caters for all travellers that are a long way from their home base, where ever in Australia they may be. We have delegates in every state and territory of Australia who are only too glad to assist you in any way.

Our club welcomes all types of rigs and camping trailers and do not actively discriminate against your choice of vehicle. Our members are based in every state and territory of Australia and so it can offer you friendship and security as you travel.

A newsletter is posted bi-monthly to all members.

1. To encourage and promote the pastime of caravan, motorhome, and camping touring Australia wide.
2. To promote the spirit of goodwill and fellowship amongst club members and fellow travellers.
3. To encourage affiliation and closer relationships with other clubs of similar interests.
4. To act with similar bodies in any manner affecting their mutual interest.
5. To do all such things as are incidental or condusive to the attainment of the said objective or any of them.
6. To enjoy and help other travellers enjoy their travels.

There were many requests from travellers, or some care to be called nomads, for a club that would provide them with support, information, regular news letters, and also allow them to attend national and state rallies if they so desired. After much thought it was decided that the time was right for a club such as this to be formed. People who didn't wish to be tied down to the normal type of recreational vehicle clubs could still be a member of a club with all the benefits and be free to follow their dream.

The club was set up and soon letters arrived from around Australia asking for information. Now we have members in every state and territory in Australia. Our growth program has been controlled so that we can put into motion the things that we said we would do. Now we feel that the time is right to promote our club more and take the next step. Our projected path will see us set up chapters in each state. We will also arrange at least two get togethers a year where members can come together and make everlasting friends as has already happened at our past get togethers.

Although we are not a lobby club or body, we will push for the improvment of rest areas, road conditions, safety in caravan parks, proper disabled amenities, and all things that can make travel safer and more enjoyable for our members and all travellers. We are also a member of the Association of Caravan Clubs of Victoria as well as being affiliated with VKS 737 the 4WD Radio Network for the benefit of members.

We fully support the drive to get a CB channel for travellers whether they are towing a van or steering a motorhome. This has been talked about for many years and always placed in the "too hard" basket. Up to now our club has sent over two thousand CH18 stickers Australia wide with very positive feedback from the truckies. From the proceeds of the sale of these stickers we have donated over $2000 to the Royal Flying Doctors Service of Australia. If by our efforts we can save one truck and caravan accident, then it has been worthwhile.
